Introduction. Currently, there is a high level of staff turnover in the penal enforcement system, which has a negative impact on the activities of correctional institutions. The measures taken to recruit and adapt per- sonnel in institutions of the penitentiary system are insufficient, which does not allow maintaining the sta- bility of the professional group and improving the efficiency of institutions. This raises the issue of the need to modernize the measures implemented in the field of recruitment and adaptation of personnel with less than 1 year of work experience. The purpose of the study is to propose targeted adaptation programs as a way to reduce staff turnover in correctional institutions of the penal system.

Materials and methods. The following methods were used to collect data: analysis of statistical data, questionnaires. 550 former employees of institutions of the penal enforcement system who have less than 1 year of experience in the penal enforcement system took part in the survey.

Results. The study made it possible to formulate the characteristics of the desired risk group, on the basis of which a generalized social portrait of an ‘ineffective adaptant’ was compiled, who failed the stages of la- bor adaptation and left the institution during the first year of work in a correctional institution. This under- lines the need to create a targeted work adaptation program that will take into account the specifics of a particular institution and vacancy.

Discussion. Based on the research results, recommendations are proposed that can contribute to the timely identification of a potential member of the risk group. With the timely identification of such an employee, personnel departments will be able to apply the necessary adaptation tools to introduce a new employee into the team or make a decision about his non-compliance. Targeted procedures will reduce the level of staff turnover in correctional institutions and, as a result, increase the efficiency of the use of resources intended for personnel procedures in the field of labor adaptation. High-quality labor adaptation is a prerequisite for effective functioning in a specific professional group, as it allows you to introduce a new employee into the structure of a professional group in a short time.

During the last year the world has been fighting with the coronavirus infection. It is important to research not only its development, but also its social consequences, especially those that are connected with the selfisolation regime.

At the same time, monitoring studies are especially relevant that allow collecting material for further analysis of the impact of the imposed restrictions on people and for the adoption of managerial decisions by the authorities at various stages of the development of the pandemic, taking into account the possibility of the emergence of new dangerous infectious diseases.

The goals of this study are to reveal the attitude of the Russians to different aspects of selfisolation imposed in the country to stop the pandemic and to analyze the behavior of people in this period, as well as the problems they faced. The analysis is based on the results of sociological survey (700 people took part in the survey) held in February of 2021 and the secondary analysis of the content of multi-modal texts devoted to the phenomenon of selfisolation (2000 have been analyzed). The following results were obtained: 1) the population has an ambiguous attitude to the regime of selfisolation, realizing its necessity and at the same time underlining the problems and difficulties that it generates; 2) the Russians generally complied with the restrictions of the lockdown; 3) some of the respondents demonstrated a rather critical attitude towards the actions of the Russian authorities in the conditions of self-isolation and showed distrust in the official information.

The main problems caused by the self-isolated regime are identified: strained relations within the family; psychological tension caused by the lack of money. Obviously, it is necessary to continue such research as long as the pandemic and the restrictions continue.

The main purpose of the study is to monitor the public consciousness of residents of the Sverdlovsk region and to assess the social mood and well-being of the population during the period of restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic. To obtain data, the research group of the Department of Management Theory and Sociology of the Ural Institute of Management - Branch of the RANEPA conducted a sociological study in the form of an online survey of residents of the region. The total sample size is 1000 people. The assessment indicators are the awareness of the population of the Sverdlovsk region about the pandemic, trust in various sources of information, attitude to the measures taken by the authorities to counter the spread of infection, and the impact of isolation on the well-being and financial situation of citizens. The study revealed the dependence of the populations attitude to what is associated with coronavirus infection and the established regime of self-isolation on the sources of information received and trust in them. For most of the population, this is the Internet, social networks, and information received from relatives and friends. Central TV channels are trusted by less than half of the respondents. Official statements do not inspire confidence in about a third of citizens, and regional leaders have a little more confidence in information about the pandemic than Federal leaders. These and other research results are of practical significance for carrying out preventive work with the population, searching for additional information channels, and making up a dialogue between the authorities and citizens to avoid social destabilization in the region.
