Purpose. Research of possibilities of applying methods of simulation modeling for assessment of activity directions of energy generating companies, building and approbation of a simulation model exemplified by the data of LLC “Gasprom energoholding”. Methods. In the research the author applied a method of simulation modeling, graph-analytic dependence, and statistic analysis of economic indices. Results. The authors built a simulation model of efficiency functioning of the enterprise LLC “Gaprom energyholding”, conducted evaluation modeling of its budgeting, economic and social efficiency and also efficiency of energy policy. Scientific novelty. The authors proved advisability of simulation modeling application for analyzing activity of energy-generating companies in Russia; substantiated use of a simulation approach for solving a wide range of tasks connected with management of an enterprise of an energy sector; built a stream diagram of relationship between performance characteristics and efficiency indices of an energy company exemplified by LLC ““Gaprom energyholding”; developed a mathematical model of enterprise performance which includes its major subsystems.

Purpose. To analyze the steps of reforming the structure of the national energy sector, to identify preconditions and consequences of such transformations. Methods. On the basis of historical experience the dynamics of the energy sector development is analyzed, interconnection between socio-economic needs of state at a certain development stage and directions of reforming the energy sector is researched. Results. Causal relations of the energy sector reform stages are revealed, general outcomes of energy sector enterprises reorganization are aggregated, new participants of the electrical-energy market are identified. Scientific novelty. Factors that led to the need of reforming and reorganization of the electric power industry are defined, stages of reforming the industry are clarified, positive and negative characteristics of electric power due to reform formulate are formulated.
