Abstract
Introduction. The purpose of this study is a structural analysis of the impact of differentiated migration flows on the economic security of the region of the Russian Federation. The regional economic system, which is influenced by a significant number of internal and external factors, requires maintaining a certain level of economic security. In the context of the increasing demographic recession and economic sanctions, migration processes are becoming increasingly important for the region's economy. In order to form effective management tools, it is necessary to determine the specific impact of each migration flow on key indicators of economic security.
Materials and methods. The authors, using general scientific methods of analysis and comparison, as well as an integrated approach to studying migration as a complex economic and social phenomenon, studied the factors affecting migration processes on the interests of the regional economic system. Having based on the results obtained, and taking into account the functional areas of influence, threats to the economic security of the Leningrad Region were identified. Having based on statistical data, an economic analysis of the impact of migration flows on the relevant indicators of economic security of the Leningrad Region was conducted. The empirical basis of the study was made up of current official and expert assessment data (in terms of unpublished information, such as GRP, GRP per capita, etc. for the last year before the release of official reporting).
Results and conclusions. Having based on the results of the study, the authors proposed areas of regulatory regulation of migration policy at the level of the subject of the federation, which can positively affect the state of the regional economic system. The authors consider it necessary to improve the socio-economic living conditions in the region, aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the region for young qualified personnel in order to reduce emigration sentiments. The scientific novelty of this study is to determine the impact of differentiated migration flows on the economic security of the region and to form a system of indicators of the economic security of the region affected by migration processes.
Discussion. The conducted research revealed the necessity to clarify the current approaches to managing regional economic security in terms of clarifying the impact of migration flows on its state. Managing the economic security of a subject within the framework of the existing Migration Policy Concept does not allow to solve these problems.
