The article shows the specifics of demand for basic technologies for the development of the Arctic space, defines Arctic technologies, diagnoses problems of the practice of modernizing the economy of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Analysis of the practice of the enterprises of this zone referring to high-tech production is presented in the context of assessing the level and growth of the competitive potential of domestic producers, selecting mechanisms for institutional assistance to the state transition to innovation. The article forms a methodological search for goals and methods of innovative modernization of the Arctic economy for the socio-cultural and economic development of Russia. The author associates the expansion of the innovative way in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation with the economic success of Russia in the framework of global cooperation.
