Goal. To study foreign experience of governance styles development, analyze modern concepts of governance in the theory of public administration. Methods. The author analyzed the main styles of governance, the evolution of their development, the development of public administration in the “shadows of the hierarchy”. Results. In this study, the author carries out a historical analysis of the development of governance styles, focuses on a network-style governance, and examines the prospects for its further development (meta-governance concept). Scientific novelty. In the work, the author proposed a structured view of modes of governance development in foreign literature.

Purpose. Study of the modern styles of governance and their combinations for the formation of the most promising approaches to coordinate actors in the field of sustainable development Methods. Through a systematic and institutional analysis analyzed the ideal standard styles of governance (governance), their combinations and features of the application, basics are analyzed the interaction of actors in the quest for sustainable development of the territory. Results. Since sustainable development is a very complex and poorly structured problem to achieve the synergy, it is necessary and compulsory to return the State to regulating positions and combination of the ideal management styles, which underlie the concept of meta-governance. Scientific novelty. The author carried out by overlaying the concept of meta-governance on the problem of coordination between the actions of the actors in the field of sustainable development of the territory.
