Purpose. The scientific study of the role of cultural factors in overcoming the consequences of the social and economic crisis in Russia. Subject. System of socio-cultural factors, their inter-conditionality in the context of the economic crisis. Methodology and methods. Study of the subject of the article is based on consideration of socio-economic indicators and cultural factors that characterize everyday life experience of people. Therefore, a phenomenological approach serves as the basic guideline for interpretation and understanding. Scientific novelty. The article deals with a specific relationship between the effects of the economic crisis as a deterioration of living standards, poverty growth and transformation of spiritual values. The author substantiates the stabilizing role of traditional values that affect the perception of the society negative manifestations of the crisis. Results. In the conclusions the author notes that patriotism as a basic element of contemporary spiritual culture, significantly affects the stability of the society and its social well-being. The stated material may be useful in the practice of public administration, as well as a sociological overview of the socio-cultural changes caused by the economic crisis.

Purpose. To consider changes in socio-cultural system of the Russian society in the context of significant political changes beginning from the 80’s of the last century to the present day. The author shows the role of specific values in the process of shaping public attitudes towards political change. Research subject. The relationship of political reform with the values of the Russian society. The contradictory character of the political reforms of recent decades is analyzed in the framework of the subject. This forces public power to seek justification in the corresponding ideology through manipulating public consciousness, infusing different value systems. Methodology and methods. Methodological basis of the article is a sociological and historical method. In the course of work the events of political history of the Russian Federation starting from M.S. Gorbachev’s reforms and finishing with the present time are interpreted from a sociological point of view. Scientific novelty. The analysis shows that the negative political processes which led to the collapse of the USSR and the change in the constitutional order in the 91st year of the last century proceeded within the same system of values that are now popularized as a national idea. Mobilization activity of the authority of modern Russia is aimed at reviving the values of the totalitarian regime and the controlled society on the basis of their complete similarity. The idea of the passive role of society in the framework of the political reforming and the negative consequences of such a social position is updated. Results and scope. The findings indicate that the naturally balanced development of values, including the global values of freedom, competition, and civil society can prevent a repetition of dangerous political experiments in the future. The materials of the article can be applied in political and sociological areas as a study guide on public administration.
