Purpose. The study is aimed at analyzing the efficiency of the system of supervisory authority of the Federal Service of the State Labor Inspectorate (SLI), prevention of labor conflicts. Methods. The study is based on a special-legal research method and comparative analysis of legal and administrative powers of labor inspectors in the context of work on realization of supervision in the field of labor relations. Results and practical value. The authors revealed the effect of influence of the number of penalties on the wages of labor inspectors, the vagueness of the labor legislation of the Russian Federation, the absence of counter conflict of immunity to the informal economy, as well as the lack of preventive measures of oversight bodies regarding compliance with labor protection in the public interest. Scientific novelty. Scientific novelty and originality consists in the study of the impact of the supervisory authority on the prevention of labor disputes from the point of view of optimization of SLI and the possibility of the reform, in particular, to increase the number of inspectors in SLI with respect to the economically active population of a specific region.
