Subject, purpose. The main purpose of the research was to study migration of young people of Kirov region connected with getting university degree. Methodology of the research. The research is based on the data analysis of the population migration in Kirov region at the age of 17-19 years old. The main source of information is statistical data on age and gender structure of migrants participating in international, inter-regional and intra-regional migration in the region. Results of the research. In the article, the author considers modern research connected with study of training migration of youth in Russia. The author points out domination of activity connected with the study of incoming and out coming international training migration conducted with the help of sociological methods. It is reported about weaknesses of the accounting system of training migration of population aged 17-19 years old for 2004-2013. The author considers separately regional specificity of international, inter-regional and intra-regional migration of the youth of the given age. The author points out the leading meaning of inter-regional migration in reduction of Kirov region population. He determines factors contributing migration decrease of the youth school leavers of the region: introduction the Uniform State Exam, strengthening of competition among regions for labor forces, lack of prestigious universities in Kirov region, differences in the level of social-economic development. The author points put centripetal character of intra-regional migration. Special attention is paid to the influence of reduction trends and youth migration on the professional training system in Kirov region. The author analyses certain aspects of regional migrating policy on youth retention in Kirov region. Sphere of the results application. The article contains approaches, which could be useful to the power bodies of Kirov region in development of the policy-mix system on the youth retention in the region. Conclusions. Irrevocable migration of youth for study in universities of other RF subjects is a serious problem for the region. It is necessary to create conditions for self-realization and provision of high living standard for young people.
