THE ROLE OF RELIGION IN THE DAILY BEHAVIOR OF STUDENTS AS AN OBJECT OF ADMINISTRATIVE IMPACT

Abstract

Purpose. Determine the attitude of students to religious confessions, the place of confessional orientations in the system of values orientations of students. To formulate appropriate recommendations to organize interaction between students, universities and religious organizations in order to prevent the spread of the influence of radical religious organizations and counteract extremism. Methods. The analysis of the results of a questionnaire survey of university students in Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Surgut (N = 1231), conducted in 2016, as well as the results of a semi-formalized expert interview conducted in 2016 with representatives of various faiths, cultural workers, teachers of religious studies, theology (N = 20). Results. It is revealed that religion is perceived by students as something fashionable (among young people, religious rituals of the wedding, as a continuation of the wedding ceremony are very popular, baptism of children), or as a formal institution that preserves, retransmits moral standards, cultural heritage. The main factors of students' conversion to religion are defined: the death of a loved one (relative, friend, etc.); problems of relatives and friends with health; difficulties, grief. Among the factors that influenced the choice of the confession: 1) parents, 2) a difficult life situation. The author presented еhe main directions of interaction religious organizations with universities and students. Scientific novelty. The scientific article reveals students' ideas about religion, its place in the life of modern person. Taking into account the results of the analysis of the data obtained during the questionnaire survey and the expert interview, it was justified that the student's confessional orientations are not pronounced, affect not their own religious behavior, but largely everyday practices.
