Abstract

Subject. Searching for additional forms of investment activity financing is at the moment an important problem of the Russian economy. Project financing for the long time has been the actual form of financing in the world, while in Russia this form is only gaining momentum. The author comes to the conclusion that project financing is the most efficient investment form for the Russian economy under current circumstances, unlike traditional forms. Purpose. The aim of the research is to identify the essence of project financing to reveal the advantages and disadvantages of this form. Methods and Methodology. Comparative analysis of “project financing” term and other investment forms is carried out through qualitative methods in the research. Results and scientific novelty. The result of this work is identification of theoretical foundations of project financing and its key features. The obtained results will be most required when making management decisions for the large-scale investment projects implementation in Russia. Measures contributing to the further favorable development of project financing in Russia are identified.
