Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the article is systematization and analysis of the factors influencing the cost of adaptation of migrants in general, as well as the identification of the specifity educational migrants's adaptation in terms of these factors. Methods. In the research, the authors used the methodology of comparative studies, through which they identified specific factors of adaptation of migrants. Results and novelty. As a result of this analysis, the authors identified the following factors that affect the cost of adaptation of migrants: type of migration, cultural distance, language competence, context of acceptance, attitude of the host community to the migrants from the sending region, the age of migration, appearance (phenotypic characteristics). The authors conclude that, on the basis of theoretical assumptions, the category of educational migrants is the least problematic from the point of view of adaptation, but in practice the process flow is affected by the fact how one or another parameter of differences is important in the current structure of social interactions.
