"THE SILENT MAJORITY" OF THE POST-SOVIET THERMIDOR: "FORCE OF NOTHINGNESS"

Abstract

Purpose. To identify major principles of cooperation between the society and the state in conditions of the Post-Soviet Thermidor. To outline significant procedures and mechanisms of development in the system of public production of the so-called “silent majority” and methods of its opposition to modern elites. Methods. As a methodological basis, the author uses Jean Baudrillard’s concept on simulacra and hyper-reality. Scientific novelty. The author determined the major principles and mechanisms of the “silent majority” development in the conditions of the Post-Soviet Thermidor. He also reveals its place in the system of reproduction and renewal of the Post-Soviet history and the role in the process of “pataphysical death” of the modern Russian elites. The author analyzed key regularities of “neutralizing” of their freedoms by the “silent majority”.
