Purpose. To reveal the level and dynamics of reproductive attitudes of the population of the Komi Republic in the period of implementation of modern demographic initiatives and fertility determination factors, to identify the demographic policy priority tasks in the field of birth rate and its improvement trends. Methods. The study is based on the analysis of the official statistics data in the field of reproduction; on the results of a questionnaire survey to determine the level and dynamics of the reproductive attitudes of the Komi Republic population through the cohort method and identification of factors affecting fertility; on systematization and assessment of the acting legislative initiatives of the national demographic policy. Results. The article revealed main indicators increase which characterizes the level of reproductive attitudes among the Komi Republic population under the conditions of the demographic policy implementation. The dynamics of standards in the field of parenthood status of the real reproductive cohorts is identified. Factors causing economic measures of the demographic policy to affect the increase in birth-rate intensity are revealed. The desire to have children is confirmed to contribute significantly to the reproductive behaviour standards setting. The priority tasks and trends of the pro-family demographic policy improvement are formulated. The research outcomes expand the perceptions of the nature of the transformation of the reproductive behavior of the Komi Republic population at the current stage of demographic development; these findings can also be used by the legislative bodies. Scientific novelty. Scientific novelty lies in researching the reproductive attitudes of the Komi Republic population in terms of the real cohorts of the population under the conditions of a complex of modern measures implementation to improve the birth rate, in identifying priorities of the demographic policy in the period of exacerbating influence of the unfavourable demographic structure factor on the population reproduction process.
