Purpose. To identify specifics and key impacts of the conservatism ideology on the political system change in modern Russia. Methods. The article studies modern types of Russian conservatism, problems of the Russian state ideology formation through the method of historical analysis and cross-temporal research method. Results. The current political reality, which is directly linked to the so-called "transitional" state, dictates new conditions of the ideological concepts interpretation. Additionally, the authors came to the conclusion that at this stage there is a trend towards de-ideologization and confusion of ideological doctrines of the political system of modern Russia. Scientific novelty. The main causes of the conservatism ideology transformation in the post-Soviet Russia are identified. Also, the authors are the first to consider the specifics of the "color revolutions" influence on conservative ideologues, etatism and Eurasianism as the two foundations of the modern Russian conservatism.
