Abstract

Purpose. To identify the Russian business social predispositions for responsible business behavior in terms of import substitution. Methods. At the international exhibition «ACHEMA 2015» in Frankfurt the author carried out in-depth interviews with representatives of the Russian and German business communities. Results. Based on these results, the portraits of socially responsible/irresponsible businessmen were formed. There were also identified the personality traits that should be inherent to the modern businessman, capable of socially responsible behavior. Scientific novelty. In terms of sanctions blockade of the United States and the EU countries the Russian government and business are forced to look for ways to upgrade and actively operate to maintain and develop the country's economy. Import substitution assumes that Russian businessmen are becoming more responsible for the quality of goods to final consumers. Barriers to foreign analogues have become obsolete means of production, which need to be modernized, and the unwillingness of Russian entrepreneurs to upgrade their production capacity efficiently.
